Halgo for English tutors
An English tutor's evening is the same everywhere: five students, five levels, five different gaps — and one tutor cropping exercises out of coursebooks at 11pm. That hour is the one Halgo removes.
Built deepest for English first
English is Halgo's most developed taxonomy: topics carry "I can…" descriptions a student actually understands, so progress reads as "I can order food, politely disagree, write a complaint" rather than a grammar checklist.
Your students' levels are CEFR A1–C2, the same scale your coursebooks use, so nothing needs translating between systems.
Your coursebooks become a question bank
Upload the coursebooks you already teach from and Halgo extracts the exercises — gap-fills, transformations, reading tasks — tagged by skill and difficulty. Homework for each student comes out of that bank, matched to their level and the focus or saved weak areas you choose, laid out as a print-ready PDF that looks like a page from a book.
Before drafting a sheet, Halgo checks that student's assignment history and excludes previously used library exercises. If it has to write new material to fill a gap, you review the result and can edit or replace it before sharing.
The rest of the job, in the same place
Lessons sync both ways with Google Calendar; late cancellations follow your policy, not your memory; prepaid packages count themselves down; and a share link lets a parent see the balance without an account. Practice decks with spaced repetition cover the between-lesson gap.
Questions tutors ask
Does Halgo prepare students for Cambridge or IELTS exams?
Halgo builds homework from whatever books you upload — if you teach from exam-prep coursebooks, the homework comes from them. There is no built-in exam bank or mock-test engine, and we would rather say that plainly than sell you one that does not exist.
My students are children. How does Halgo handle that?
Carefully and structurally. Students open boards and practice from share links without accounts, Halgo never emails or texts a family on its own, student-facing pages are excluded from analytics in code, and consent for anything beyond that belongs to the parent.
Can I edit the generated homework?
Always. Every exercise has Replace and Edit; nothing goes to a student until you decide it does. Halgo also learns from what you swap out.
Want your evenings back?
